Skyrim is payable at 1600x900 resolution with 30+ FPS with the Intel HD 4400, but it is necessary to edit the SkyrimPref.ini file to disable shadows. Since my friend likes Fallout 3 a lot I will probably see how well I can get Fallout 4 to run on the Intel HD 4400 over the weekend. Dota 2 will be playable a well, but it is a little more demanding than LoL so 1080p should be doable with a mix of low and medium settings. The Intel HD 5500 can handle League of Legends of at 1080p with very high graphics providing at least 40 FPS. It was decently playable at 1366x768 resolution FPS was around 18 - 26 the Intel HD 5500 should do much better than that. Other games that would be playable using the Intel HD 5500 is the Mass Effect trilogy, I decided to complete Mass Effect 3 and all it's DLC with an older laptop using only the Intel HD 3000 (pretty weak compared to the Intel HD 5500) instead of the dedicated nVidia GT 550m just to give the Intel HD 3000 a good shakedown. It was pretty playable at 1600x900 resolution with a mix of low and medium settings. Not a very popular MMO game, but I tested Star Trek Online using only the Intel HD 4400 graphics core in my laptop disabled the Radeon HD 8850m. Simply install the d9d3.dll file in the Oblivion / Fallout 3 directory. A workaround would be to download a custom d9d3.dll file that was originally designed for the "Oldblivion Project" which allowed GPUs that only supported DX8 to play Oblivion which was the very 1st game to drop DX8 support. Those games will simply crash if you were to attempt to start a game. The Gamebryo engine does not recognize any Intel HD graphics core. Both Oblivion and Fallout 3 uses the same game engine, Gamebryo. At 1600x900 resolution performance pretty much ranges between 35 FPS - 45 FPS outdoors. I basically edited the FalloutPref.ini to disable all shadows, no AA, high quality textures, and some other settings at medium. Oblivion should be playable because I set up Fallout 3 (which came after Oblivion) on a friend's laptop with a Core i5-4200u and the Intel HD 4400 graphics core. I suppose it was too much of a change from Morrowind. Oblivion should be playable, I have not tested that game though I lost interest in the game after around 30 hours of gameplay way back when. I do not play Team Fortress, but since it is based on the Source Engine it is a pretty easy game to run. Yes, you can play those games with that laptop.
